Manchester United have decided against appealing the three-game ban handed to Paul Pogba by the FA.

Pogba was sent off by Andre Marriner in the 74th minute of the Red Devils’ 3-1 victory over Arsenal at the weekend for a dangerous challenge on Hector Bellerin at the Emirates.

The suspension means the France midfielder will miss United’s much-anticipated clash with Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, but an official complaint has not been made by the Premier League giants.

Asked about Pogba’s red card at Arsenal, Jose Mourinho said: ‘He’s not suspended for the Champions League.

‘He plays tomorrow.’

The Frenchman is set to start against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday evening, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Nemanja Matic will miss out on the European fixture.

Asked about Ibrahimovic, Mourinho explained: ‘Zlatan is not injured.

‘He needs to work very hard on the muscular area that supports the knee that had the problem.

‘When that hard work comes, so does fatigue.’
