Arsene Wenger singles out Kevin De Bruyne ahead of Manchester City clash
Arsene Wenger has hailed the ‘exceptional’ Kevin De Bruyne in the lead-up to Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.
De Bruyne is the favourite the be named PFA Player of the Year for a sensational campaign in City colours and Wenger is wary of the Belgian’s threat on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal have only managed two victories from their eight League Cup finals and face the Premier League on the back of a dismal second-leg defeat at home to Ostersunds FK.

‘He’s had an exceptional development. One of the big strengths of Manchester City is De Bruyne,’ Wenger said.
‘He is a modern midfielder for me, he can be decisive in the final third.
‘He works very hard; he is right footed, left footed, a fighter as well. Overall, I am not surprised [by his performances].
‘They have so many players that you could think about how to stop that it is better you focus on the team plan rather than any individual.’
Wenger hit back at Roy Keane after the Manchester United legend labeled Jack Wilshere ‘the most overrated player on the planet’.
‘It’s very difficult. I personally rate Jack very highly,’ he said.

‘After that you can have opinions. Jack was in the team last night and didn’t perform well.
‘Was it one of his best performances? Certainly not. But Roy Keane knows that can happy to everybody.’
