Manchester United set asking price for Anthony Martial after Juventus hold talks
Manchester United will demand €65 million (£57.4m) for Anthony Martial if Juventus follow up their interest with a concrete bid this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Former Juventus midfielder Pavel Nedved, who is now the club’s vice-president, met with the head of Doyen Sports, Nelio Lucas, in London last week to discuss a potential deal for Martial.
Juventus are interested in making a move for the France international this summer and talks are ongoing with the player’s camp.
But according to Premium Sport, United will want at least €65 million (£57.4m) for Martial, although the signing would be considered as a huge addition to Massimiliano Allegri’s attack.
Martial will have only a year remaining on his contract with United this summer, although the club have the option to extend that until 2020.
Martial was criticised for his performances by Jose Mourinho last season, while the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window has led to questions over the 22-year-old’s future at Old Trafford.
Martial, who has scored 11 goals in 39 appearances this season, is also facing a battle to make France’s World Cup squad.
Although he has been called up by Didier Deschamps for France’s upcoming friendlies against Russia and Colombia.
