Jurgen Klopp jokes about Manchester United fans after Liverpool’s Champions League draw
Jurgen Klopp has joked that Manchester United fans will consider Liverpool’s Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City as a ‘dream draw’.
Liverpool will face Pep Guardiola’s side in the last eight of the Champions League after both teams eased through the last-16 stage with comfortable aggregate scores.
United, meanwhile, crashed out of the competition on Tuesday evening after suffering a surprise 2-1 defeat to Sevilla at Old Trafford.
But Klopp believes United fans will be pleased with the quarter-final tie as it means one of Liverpool or City will be denied the trophy.
‘I think it’s an absolute dream draw… for all Man United fans,’ said Klopp.
‘I really don’t mind. It’s not that we really have enough time to prepare that game until then.
‘I will start thinking about it a lot before we play them.

‘I knew it would be difficult [whoever we faced].
‘The good news is for Man City it’s difficult as well.
‘I saw [Txiki] Begiristain’s [City’s director of football] face after the draw and it didn’t look like it was his Christmas and Easter on the same day, so it’s hard work and that’s good.’
