An England fan was able to wander into Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashfords hotel room while the duo were on international duty after being mistaken by the pairs barber.
The supporter spent 10 minutes with the Manchester United duo after being ushered up to their room at the Grove near Watford before the real hairdresser arrived.
Gareth Southgates squad are preparing for Tuesday nights friendly with Italy at Wembley after beating the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Friday, with security around the squad supposedly tight.
But an FA coach ushered a random fan up to Lingard and Rashford and the supporter took a video of him entering the duos hotel room on his mobile phone.
After knocking on the door and saying Room service, Mr Lingard. the fan was beckoned in by the 25-year-old who was lying alongside Rashford on the rooms bed.
The Sun claim the trio then spent the next 10 minutes making small talk before the man was ejected as the real barber arrived.
Its believed the confusion arose from the hotel guest carrying a plastic bag with his swimming kit after using the pool and as he walked over to chat to some of the Three Lions squad, a coach led him past security and to Lingard and Rashfords room.
Though there was no trouble in the room, the police were called with the intruder later questioned. However, no charges were made.
Officers spoke to all parties involved and no offences were reported, Hertfordshire Police said.
An FA spokesperson added: Two health club members, who were known to The Grove Hotel, managed to access the players area and were asked to leave as soon as the security team were made aware.
The police were informed and, while no further action was taken, The FA will assess security arrangements as part of our review process.
