Alexis Sanchez gives Chris Smalling a pep talk after his goal against Manchester City
Alexis Sanchez showed no signs of being a subdued figure at Manchester United after delivering a pep talk to Chris Smalling during the win over Manchester City on Saturday.
Jose Mourinhos side were staring down the barrel of a humiliating defeat as they were two goals down by half time and were lucky not to have been even further behind as Raheem Sterling missed two clear-cut chances.
But United staged a superb comeback in the second half as Paul Pogba struck twice before Smalling met Sanchezs free-kick to steer the ball past Ederson.
And after Smalling had put United ahead, Sanchez gave a special message to his United teammate.
Smalling was at fault for Citys opening goal as he allowed Vincent Kompany to have a free header inside Uniteds box from Leroy Sanes corner.

And after celebrating his goal, the England international was pulled to one side by Sanchez and given a brief message by the Chilean.
Sanchez, who also set up Pogbas second goal, looked animated as he spoke to the United defender and appeared to indicate that he wanted full concentration from the defence to see out their 3-2 lead.
Mourinhos side managed to hang on, which has prevented Pep Guardiolas side from securing the Premier League title against their rivals.
