Jurgen Klopp is hopeful Mohamed Salah will be available for selection for Liverpools Champions League showdown with Manchester City on Tuesday.

Liverpools talisman limped off in the second half against City in the first leg and then missed the weekends Merseyside derby against Everton due to injury.

City must overturn a 3-0 deficit in front of their home fans to progress to the semi-finals and Liverpool will be desperate to start their top goalscorer at the Eithad.

We didnt even think about him, why should we? Klopp said after the 0-0 draw with Everton.

It is not as though five minutes before the game we make a 95 per cent decision and say try again.

That is something to ask the medical team, Klopp said before the game.

We have always to wait until the last minute especially when you only have these short breaks between games.

Mo, hes injured. Hopefully I dont think its too serious and he will available for Tuesday, but today he wasnt available.

Liverpool head to Manchester in the driving seat, but will be wary of a City response after the Sky Blues lost 3-2 to Manchester United on Saturday.
