Manchester United determined to beat rivals Man City to transfer of Brazil international Fred
Manchester United are still holding out hope of beating rivals Man City to a summer deal for Brazil international Fred, according to reports.
A number of Premier League clubs have expressed interest in signing Fred, having taken note of his progress for Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk over the past five years.
The 25-year-old appears destined to move to Manchester in the summer but which Premier League giant will win the race to secure his signature remains unclear.

City had been frontrunners to land a deal since making enquiries during the January transfer window, but the Daily Mirror say United intend to beat their bitter rivals to a move.
Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster his options in midfield at the end of the season, with Michael Carrick joining the clubs coaching staff and Marouane Fellaini set to leave.

Freds agent, the former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva, confirmed earlier in the year that his client was keen to secure a move to England.
At the moment we are open for the market and, when you see the whole market in football, the Premier League is one of the targets, he told Sky Sports.
We had inquiries for him in the last transfer window, but it didnt happen. The Premier League is his preferred destination.
Fred, who made his international debut for Brazil in 2014, is valued at over £50million by Shakhtar Donetsk.
