Celtic star Kieran Tierney has responded to speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United in the summer.

Tierney has made 120 appearances since breaking into Celtics first-team back in 2014 and his impressive performances have put the Premier Leagues elite on red alert.

Reports suggest Jose Mourinho sent a scout to watch Tierney play in Celtics 4-0 victory over Rangers at Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon.

The highly-rated young defender helped Celtic record a clean sheet in the Scottish Cup semi-final and was heavily involved in Callum McGregors first-half goal.

Asked about recent transfer rumours following the win, Tierney told The Times: Im not thinking about anyone other than Celtic just now.

Im enjoying my career here; Ive just signed a six-year deal, so if that doesnt say long-term, I dont know what does.

Its understood United are weighing up a £20million move for Tierney and the speculation comes as no surprise to Celtic legend Chris Sutton.

One thing that stands out straight away with Kieran Tierney is his personality, Sutton said earlier this month.

Hes level-headed, hard-working and very likeable. And hes a grafter, someone who works hard for the team.

It doesnt surprise me Manchester United are after him. Hes a Jose Mourinho-type player.

He really caught the eye in Europe last season and, amazingly, only Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio has played more minutes in any top division across the world this season.

Hes extremely solid in defence, makes good decisions and can play anywhere across the backline.

He can improve. His final ball could be better and his attacking contribution is not as outstanding as it was last season.

That said, he is a top young talent with the mentality to make those improvements and United would be lucky to have him.
