McDonnell says finance services will have a seat at the table under Labour
Shadow chancellor John McDonnell has said the finance sector "will have a seat at the table" on policymaking under a Labour government.
Speaking today at Bloomberg's European headquarters in London, McDonnell said:
Two things you need to be clear about. First, there are no tricks up my sleeve. What you see is what you get. Second, when we go into government, we want you to come with us, alongside representatives from our manufacturers, our trade unions and wider civil society.
There will be a seat at the policy making and policy delivery table for you. Thats the tone I have tried to engender at the many meetings I have had in the City.
