Ronnie OSullivan and Ali Carter were involved in an unseemly clash during their second round match at the World Championships.

Trailing 8-10 in a best of 25-frame clash, OSullivan attempted to lay a snooker behind the black, but quite literally got the rub of the green when the cue ball fortuitously cannoned off the corner pocket and nestled safely on the cushion with the brown and blue obscuring Carters view of the green.

As OSullivan left the table to take his seat, he brushed shoulders with Carter who couldnt quite believe the animosity his opponent appeared to be displaying.

Thanks very much, thats very nice of you, said Carter after OSullivan had sarcastically given him the thumbs-up and invited him to take his shot.

Referee Paul Collier was forced to intervene and asked the players to settle down.

OSullivan went on to win the controversial frame but Carter, beaten by the current world No.2 in the 2008 and 2012 finals, held his nerve and closed out a 13-9 victory, his first success over the five-time champion at the sports most iconic venue at his fifth attempt.
