Sadio Mane has talked up the prospect of Liverpool signing Lyon star Nabil Fekir and says the Frenchman will bring fire to the Reds attack.
Nevertheless, that has not stopped fans – or, indeed, players – from getting excited, and Mane would welcome the arrival of Fekir should Liverpool lure the Frenchman to Anfield.
Speaking after Liverpools defeat to Chelsea, the Senegal international told SFR Sport: Nabil is a very exciting player.
He could do beautiful things here and he will enjoy his time with us. We always need players like him and if he joins us it will be fire.
Fekir leads Lyons scoring charts this season with 17 goals, while he has also laid on a further seven assists, and has reportedly agreed a five-year deal with Liverpool.
Klopp, though, was rather less forthcoming than Mane when asked about both Fekir and another rumoured target, Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.
During the game we agreed a deal? I would be surprised about that to be honest, the German told reporters at his post-match press conference.
But no comment. What was the second name? Oh! [Dembele] is on the market? Is he on the market? Now I am interested!
No, nothing [to say]. Obviously you are not from Liverpool. I never comment on transfer rumours. Ive said already much more than I usually say.
