Hong Kong Racing Betting Tips: Fast Most Furious can leave punters cheering

MOST of the UK has been basking in glorious sunshine this week with record temperatures nearing the 30s.

Its the type of weather you would usually associate with Hong Kong…. but be warned!

A weather warning of thunderstorms has been issued for the area today, and when it rains here, it really rains – I should know having seen a number of suits and shoes ruined in such deluges.

Once upon a time the inner-city track at Happy Valley would have been flooded after half-an-hour of ferocious rain.

However, in recent years, after a high-tech drainage system under the track was put in place, the course can now cope with incessant rain, but conditions could be soft.

Monsoon weather only happens a handful of times during the racing season in Hong Kong but when it does strange results materialise.

Heres hoping the weather forecasters have got it wrong, with one or two interesting propositions on this afternoons card.

Most eyes will be focused on the highly-talented and progressive topweight FAST MOST FURIOUS who lines-up in the finale at 3.50pm over six furlongs.

The ex-Jim Bolger gelding has been a work in progress this season and costly to his supporters in the process, until he got it spot-on when winning with his head in his chest over the track and trip three weeks back.

The handicapper was obviously not happy, giving him an 8lb penalty, but you can guarantee there was plenty more petrol in the tank, and with a positive draw (4) setting him up to follow the trail-blazers he is going to be hard to beat.

Jockey Zac Purton, who is aboard Fast Most Furious, has numerous chances at the Valley to cut into the nine-winner deficit he trails Joao Moreira by in the jockeys championship.

Purton nowadays only climbs aboard Caspar Fownes horses when the trainer gives him the green light – their partnership this season boasts a 25 per cent strike rate.

They team up with the dropped-in class FRIENDS OF KA YING in the 2.45pm over the extended mile and he looks a horse about to reach his peak.

The six-year-old suffered a tough run before dashing late to finish fourth over the track and trip in March.

Having already been placed from a 7lb higher mark in better company, he must surely go close.
