Arsenal are a mess – Gary Neville slams botched attempts to hire Arsene Wengers successor
Gary Neville has slammed Arsenals recruitment process and claims the club are in a mess as they continue their attempts to find Arsene Wengers successor.

Mikel Arteta has emerged as the leading candidate to succeed Wenger with the likes of Patrick Vieira, Julian Nagelsmann and Massimiliano Allegri also on the clubs shortlist.

Former Barcelona treble-winning coach Luis Enrique was the early favourite but his extravagant wage demands appear to have ruled him out of the running, which represents evidence of a botched approach, according to Neville.

Im shocked at the process its a right mess, Neville told Sky Sports. Thats the problem [they havent done anything].
They are all over the place. The problem is now you cant keep anything quiet. You have a live update on the process unfortunately.
With Enrique they found out he wanted too much money. They found out after they approached him? They must have known.
I dont know the hierarchy at Arsenal now but it seems theyve not deal with it particularly well.
They should have had their guy lined up and ready to go. To me its been a mess since hes gone.
