Liverpool brand Sadio Manes transfer links to Real Madrid nonsense

Liverpool have rubbished reports Sadio Mane has agreed personal terms to join Real Madrid this summer.

Mane was linked with a shock move to Madrid by France Football, who claim the Senegal international was awaiting the greenlight from the new Real manager.

The agreement was reached before Zinedine Zidane decided to quit as head coach and Real have now shelved their pursuit of Mane until after a new manager is installed.

Mane is a pivotal member of Liverpools team and helped the Reds reach the Champions League final this season, where they met Real.

The attacker was also the sole Liverpool player to score in the final, and was the Redss stand-out performer after Mohamed Salah left the pitch injured.

Liverpool have now replied to pleas for comment by the English press, branding the links as nonsense.

The Mirror claim Liverpool have no intention of selling Mane and will not allow the forward to exit the club under any circumstance this summer.

Liverpool also insist there is no truth to the rumours Mane wants to join Real and has already come to terms with the La Liga giants.

Jurgen Klopp would be devastated to lose Mane to Spain, after watching the speedster enjoy an excellent season for the Reds.

Mane bagged 20 goals in 44 appearances and also laid on nine assists for his team-mates.

It was the 26-year-olds best season in England to date as Mane flourished alongside Roberto Firmino and Salah.
