Arsenal optimistic Aaron Ramsey will sign new Arsenal contract
Arsenal are optimistic Aaron Ramsey will commit his future to the club and sign a new long-term contract.
The Wales international has just over a year left to run on his present deal and the club are keen to avoid the scenario which saw Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil threaten to run down their contracts and leave on free transfers.
Ramsey has already been offered a new deal which represents a significant rise on his current £100,000-a-week salary and the Daily Telegraph reports that Arsenal have been given encouraging signals, indicating that the 27-year-old is ready to sign.

New manager Unai Emery is hopeful of building a new-look midfield around Ramseys attacking talents but the club will look to sell the former Cardiff midfielder if he refuses to commit.

Arsenal are willing to offer lucrative terms to a player who registered 20 goals and assists combined in all competitions last season, given the likely cost and difficulty of finding a suitable replacement.
Chelsea and Manchester United have reportedly been monitoring Ramseys situation, while he has also been linked with Barcelona in the past.
Asked last month if he was excited at the prospect of working with Emery, Ramsey said: Of course.
I havent spoken to him at all yet, but I think its an exciting time for the club. I cant wait to get back there now.
