Novak Djokovic is feeling fully confident ahead of his second-round tie with Grigor Dimitrov – and warned the Bulgarian No. 1 not to underestimate him.

The Serb enjoyed a fine return to action at The Queens Club after an eight-year absence, brushing John Millman aside with a 6-2 6-1 win to set up a tie with the world No. 5.

Dimitrov has lost six of their seven meetings, but since their last encounter the Serb has been battling with an elbow issue and the Bulgarian suggested he was not the same player of old.

Of course its not easy when you come off of surgery or any type of injury, the Bulgarian said after defeating Damir Dzumhur.

And you can see his level has dropped a little bit, yes. Everybody can see this. Its no secret.

However, Djokovic warned his next opponent that hes improving every tournament and is 100% focused after finally putting his injury woes behind him.

Look, you know, everybody sees my game or any other players game different, he said.

We all see it from different perspectives, and I feel that in the last three tournaments basically my level of my tennis has improved and I start to feel comfortable with my game, in general, and I can actually finally focus on my game, which I wasnt doing 100% because I had to, you know, more or less every time I stepped on the court, think about the elbow or other things that might occur.

So right now its all about tennis, all about improving, and getting on a high level. So a match against Dimitrov obviously is a very good challenge for both of us, especially me at this time, you know, with not too many matches under my belt in general this year or last 12 months.

So its quite important. Hes one of the best players in the world and loves playing on grass. I think its his preferred surface.

He has won here, so yeah, I mean, after todays performance, convincing performance, I feel confident to step out on the court and go for a win.
