Jamie Carragher predicts when Jose Mourinho will leave Manchester United after Brighton shambles
Jamie Carragher believes Jose Mourinho will be sacked by Manchester United before the start of next season.
Mourinho signed a contract extension last January but Carragher cannot envisage the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss still being at Old Trafford next year.
The Red Devils won the League Cup and Europa League in Mourinhos first season at the club, but they failed to win a trophy during the 2017-18 campaign, finishing second in the Premier League behind Manchester City.

Mourinhos side started this season with a 2-1 victory over Leicester City but suffered a humbling defeat at Brighton on Sunday.
If performances continue like that, I dont think Jose will be Manchester United manager next season, Liverpool legend Carragher told Sky Sports.

I think there will be coaches looking at Jose and what he said in the summer about buying more players, they will see hes spent £30m on two defenders [Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof] and has two England internationals [Phil Jones and Chris Smalling].
They will be saying “coach them, make them better”. But hes a manager for today, not tomorrow.
Uniteds traditions have gone out the window. They should have backed him with what he wanted – no-one is enjoying watching this, Jose or the fans.
You have to back him. But I dont see him lasting until next season.
Manchester United were widely expected to prove too strong for Brighton at the weekend but Glenn Murray gave the hosts the lead with a neat chip.
Shane Duffy then doubled Brightons advantage from a corner, before Romelu Lukaku reduced the deficit with a close-range header.
The Seagulls still boasted a two-goal cushion at half-time, however, as Pascal Gross was felled in the box by Eric Bailly and slotted the penalty past David De Gea.
Paul Pogba scored a penalty himself in injury-time but Brighton were not to be denied a well-deserved victory.
On Manchester Uniteds performance, Carragher said: The first half was an absolute shambles defensively.

It could be the worst half of football Jose has ever seen from one of his teams. Bailly had a nightmare. Lindelof just isnt good enough, I think Bailly is the best of the bunch but Lindelof is not good enough for United.
They conceded 28 goals last season, if Jose stays he will still have a good defensive record this year. Its a one-off. But a bigger worry is the second half performance, which was so poor.
