Manchester Uniteds hierarchy are not yet considering Jose Mourinhos position and are in disagreement over Zinedine Zidane suitability as a potential replacement, according to reports.

Mourinho is under pressure to deliver after finishing last season without a trophy but United have suffered a poor start to the new campaign with back-to-back defeats against Brighton and Tottenham.

Mourinho has vehemently defended his managerial record in the wake of the 3-0 loss to Spurs at Old Trafford on Monday evening.

But according to the Sunday Mirror, Uniteds executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is under no pressure from the clubs owners to sack Mourinho so early in the season.

Zidane has been linked with replacing Mourinho, with reports claiming last month that the former Real Madrid boss is keeping a close eye on the situation at Old Trafford.

But the Mirror claims that Zidane is not viewed as the standout candidate to replace Mourinho by Uniteds hierarchy.

Jose isnt on thin ice yet. The start to the season has been disappointing but hes going to be given time to turn it around, a source at United told the Mirror.

The mood in the dressing room is still positive and Ed Woodward was at the training ground at Carrington last week and didnt have any issues with the atmosphere around the camp.
