Billy Joe Saunders fined £100,000 by British Boxing Board of Control


Billy Joe Saunders has been fined £100,000 for being found of a misconduct charge by the British Boxing Board of Control.
The middleweight WBO champion recorded himself on video of taunting a woman in the street and offering her drugs in return for a sexual favour.
Saunders wanted the woman to perform a sex act on a passer-by in exchange for £150 worth of drugs.

The fighter was hauled in front of the BBBofC on Tuesday and a hearing found Saunders guilty of bringing the sport into disrepute.
A statement read: Billy Joe Saunders appeared before the Stewards of the British Boxing Board of Control today under a misconduct charge following his recent behaviour shown on social media.

The Stewards have found Mr. Saunders guilty of bringing the sport of Boxing into disrepute and have fined him the sum of £100,000 and issued a severe reprimand as to his future conduct.

All monies will go to the BBBofC charity to assist ex-boxers and ex- license holders who have fallen on hard times.
The decision means Saunders is free to defend his WBO title against Demetrius Andrade on 20 October in Boston.
