Jose Mourinho speaks out on Paul Pogbas poor performance in Manchester Uniteds defeat to West Ham
Jose Mourinho offered no complements to Paul Pogba in the wake of Manchester Uniteds defeat to West Ham on Saturday.
The relationship between Mourinho and Pogba came under further strain this week when they were at the centre of an argument during a training session.
Mourinho also told Pogba this week that he will never captain a United side again, a decision which is reportedly due to concerns over the midfielders attitude.
Despite their row in training which was picked up by television cameras, Mourinho opted to start the World Cup winner for the clash against West Ham at the London Stadium.
But with 20 minutes remaining and United two goals down, Mourinho took the decision to substitute Pogba and bring on Fred.
Pogba left the pitch to ironic cheers from West Hams supporters, while the midfielder made little eye contact with Mourinho as he made his way to Uniteds bench.

Pogba struggled to make an impact alongside Nemanja Matic and Marouane Fellaini and after the 3-1 defeat, Mourinho was extremely curt in his analysis of the France internationals performance.
When asked about Pogbas display, Mourinho replied: He tried hard.

Mourinho also admitted that not every player in his United squad has the right attitude.
I can have complaints with quality and mental approach, he said.
You have to try always and that is my nature as a football professional.
