Alexandre Lacazette must continue good work at Arsenal, says France boss Didier Deschamps
Didier Deschamps has explained why there was no place for Alexandre Lacazette in his France squad and urged the forward to continue his good work at Arsenal.
Lacazette, 27, who was also left out of Frances World Cup winning squad in the summer, has had an impressive start to this season, scoring five goals in all competitions for the Gunners.
The striker will have been hoping for a recall ahead of Frances clashes with Iceland and Germany in the Uefa Nations League but Deschamps instead selected Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud, Ousmane Dembele and Florian Thauvin.
While France have an embarrassment of riches in attack, Deschamps defended his decision to stick with the same forwards he took to Russia.

It is true that he is having a good early season where he is efficient and effective, he replied when asked about Lacazettes omission.
There is competition in this position and for the moment the players I selected for the World Cup, I continue to rely on them.
It is not a question of profile, but I am not going to pick multiple players in the same position. It is also necessary to have a balanced squad and he is a central attacker.
This does not take away the credit for what he does. He must continue.
Pogba kept his place in Frances squad and Deschamps believes the Manchester United midfielders feud with Jose Mourinho has been blown out of proportion.
I think its exaggerated. Maybe you didnt watch their last game, because I witnessed a great Paul Pogba, he said.
I think Jose saw the same thing as me. Some things happened and I think that, like is often the case, we make a big deal of something that isnt.

When I see how Paul behaves towards the situation at his club, some may say hes done everything he could possibly do mentally and when it comes to his individual performances, to help the club.
There is no issue with Paul. I dont want to be mixed up with anything and to interfere with any players relationship with their coach.
