Why Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has withdrawn from Germany squad
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has been forced to withdraw from Germanys squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures because of a groin injury.
The 25-year-old required treatment following Chelseas routine victory over Southampton on Sunday.
Rudiger will now miss Germanys Nations League games with Holland and France, although he believes he will be able to train during the international break.

I wont be available for Germany for the upcoming matches due to a groin problem, he tweeted.

Chelsea fans will hope Rudiger is able to recover fully by the time they face struggling Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on September 20.

The 3-0 victory over Southampton on Sunday ensured the Blues returned to the top of the table, level on points with Manchester City and Liverpool.
But despite Chelseas impressive start to the new season, manager Maurizio Sarri is not convinced they will challenge for the title.
Manchester City and Liverpool are a step forward of us, the former Napoli boss said after the Southampton win.
The gap with City was large and we are trying to close it, but its very difficult in just one season.
Chelsea finished fifth under Antonio Conte last term, 30 points adrift of champions Manchester City.
