Why is Sunderland vs Blackpool postponed?
There are not too many League One games postponed due to international call ups, but that is what has happened to Sunderland vs Blackpool today.
Such is the star-studded nature of the Sunderland squad, they have three players called up for international duty at the moment, so they asked for a postponement from the Football League.

This has been granted, although the match has not yet been rearranged – Sunderlands next fixture is away to Shrewsbury on 20 October, whilst Blackpool host AFC Wimbledon on the same day.
The three Sunderland players to be called up for international duty were Jon McLaughlin for Scotland, Bryan Oviedo for Costa Rica and Tom Flanagan for Northern Ireland.
The trio have appeared in 26 league games between them so far this season so it would have been a notable loss for the Black Cats, especially if they had been missing first choice goalkeeper McLaughlin.
