AC Milan have given Chelsea star Tiemoue Bakayoko six games to prove his worth to the club before they cancel his loan deal.

The Frenchman joined the Serie A giants on a season-long loan deal last summer after failing to impress during his debut season at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea signed Bakayoko for £40million from Monaco in 2016 and he arrived in west London as one of the most exciting young midfielders in Europe.

However, Bakayoko has suffered from a lack of confidence at the San Siro and Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso recently said the midfielder had defects in his game.

Bakayoko has to learn how to get the ball, said Gattuso

We must work correctly. It will not be easy.”

One week is not enough to remove the defects of a player. I would have preferred to be managing older, more experienced club players

Bakayoko is yet to start for Milan and has been reduced to four appearances from the bench.

Milan have an option to buy him in the summer but Corriere dello Sport claim the Italian giants will give Bakayoko just six more games to show his value.

If Bakayoko fails to impress then Milan will likely cancel his loan deal in January and send him back to Stamford Bridge.
