Gonzalo Higuain reveals he did not join Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea this summer because the club chiefs did not want him.
Sarri was linked with a move for Higuain when he took charge at Chelsea, but a transfer never materialised and the striker joined AC Milan instead.
Higuain set a new Serie A scoring record at Napoli under Sarris guidance and Chelsea fans were excited at the prospect of the 30-year-old joining his former manager at Stamford Bridge.

Sarri did contact Higuain about a reunion, but the forward claims Chelseas reluctance pushed him towards Milan.
Sarri was the only one to want me at Chelsea, Higuain said. Everybody wanted me at AC Milan, while in London I was only wanted by the manager.

AC Milan insisted to sign me, Elliott did a big effort for me and Leonardo, Maldini and Gattuso know the club very well. I really appreciated their approach during the negotiation.

Higuain has rediscovered his form at Milan with six goals in seven appearances.
Juventus sanctioned a year-long loan deal which also saw defender Leonardo Bonucci move in the opposite direction after just one season at Milan.
Sarri will be disappointed to hear Higuain felt unwanted at Chelsea after a quiet first transfer window as Blues head coach.

Chelsea made just one major signing in the summer as Sarri snared Jorginho from Napoli.
Mateo Kovacic also arrived, but only on a loan deal and the midfielder is expected to return to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Sarri has asked for several signings in January, but has already overseen a fantastic return to form with the current Chelsea squad.
