Anthony Martial tells Manchester United he is ready to sign new contract
Anthony Martial is ready to sign a new contract with Manchester United after a dramatic improvement in his relationship with Jose Mourinho, according to reports in France.
The 22-year-old is out of contract next summer and his agent had made it clear at the end of last season that he was looking to leave Old Trafford, with little progress made over an extension as talks reached an impasse.
Martial had lost his place in the United team at the turn of the year, coinciding with the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, but has been a mainstay in recent weeks.
And now RMC Sport – who landed the interview with Martials agent earlier this summer – report that he is prepared to go back to the negotiating table and finally sign a new deal, regardless of what happens with Mourinho.

Tensions between Martial and his manager have thawed and they are now getting along much better, which has been helped by the wingers recent performances.

Martial scored twice in the draw with Chelsea at the weekend – his third consecutive start in the Premier League – and also netted at Newcastle in the dramatic come-from-behind victory before the international break.
Mourinho and his coaching staff have also been impressed with Martials application and performances in training.
Ed Woodward is also a huge fan of Martial and is keen to wrap up a contract extension for the Frenchman while he is happy as soon as possible, and could offer him as much as £175,000-a-week.
Martial has scored three times in just 351 minutes of action in the Premier League this season, while he was also on the score sheet against Young Boys in the Champions League.
