Czech billionaire Petr Kellner to hold takeover talks with Chelsea
Petr Kellner, the Czech Republics richest man, will hold talks with Chelsea over a potential takeover deal, according to reports.
Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea in 2003 and was looking to sell a minority stake in the club earlier this summer in order to release funds.
The Russian billionaire is also said to have rejected a £2 billion offer from Britains richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe in June.
But according to Tyden, a newspaper based in the Czech Republic, Kellner is interested in buying a partial stake in Chelsea and initial discussions will be held in the coming days.
Kellner, who is worth an estimated £10.2bn, made his fortune in insurance and banking in his homeland.
The 54-year-old is ranked 88th on the Forbes Worlds Billionaires list.

Kellner also reportedly owns an executive box at Stamford Bridge and his money could help the club finance their new stadium.
Plans to increase the capacity of the ground from 41,600 to 60,000 were shelved earlier this year.
