India captain Virat Kohli breaks silence after obliterating Sachin Tendulkars ODI record
Virat Kohli says he is grateful and blessed after breaking the record to become the fastest batsman to reach 10,000 one-day international runs.
The 29-year-old reached the landmark in just 205 innings. Sachin Tendulkar, who held the record previously, achieved the feat in 259.
Kohli became the 13th player and fifth Indian to go past 10,000 ODI runs in the second match against West Indies in Visakhapatnam.
Its a great honour for me to represent my country, Kohli said. Even after playing for ten years I dont feel like Im entitled to anything.
I feel really grateful and really blessed. I never imagined that I would get to this stage in my one-day career.

But its happened and Im very thankful to God and grateful right now.
Having scored 140 in the opening ODI, Kohli made it back-to-back centuries with an unbeaten 157 on Wednesday as India posted 321/6.
But India were forced to settle for a tie after Windies batsman Shai Hope struck a boundary off the final ball to level the scores.
The ODI series continues in Pune on Saturday.
