Eden Hazard played one of the passes of the season to create Belgiums opening goal against Iceland on Thursday night as his old boss Jose Mourinho watched on from the stands.

The Red Devils were in action in the UEFA Nations League in Brussels as they secured their third straight win of the group stages thanks to a 2-0 victory, with both goals being scored by Michy Batshuayi.

But while it was Batshuayis name on the score sheet, it was skipper Hazard who stole the show with an astonishing pass to create the opening goal.

The Chelsea star cut in off the left flank, turned his marked inside out and then played an astonishing, eye-of-the-needle pass that took EIGHT Iceland players out of the game.

Hazards pinpoint-perfect pass found the overlapping Thomas Meunier on the opposite flank who squared the ball for Batshuayi to slide home from close range.

After finally finding a way to break down Icelands stubborn defence, Hazard – who has been nursing a back problem – was withdrawn a few minutes later.

His replacement, Hans Vanaken, was quickly involved in Belgiums second goal, with his shot parried back into the path of Batshuayi who sealed all three points.

Interestingly, Manchester United boss Mourinho was spotted at the Stade Roi Baudouin for the match.

But if he was there to watch Romelu Lukaku he would have been left disappointed, with the striker ruled out of the match with a niggling hamstring problem that he is undergoing treatment for in Antwerp – but at least The Special One got to see a very special pass from Hazard!
