England exacted revenge on Croatia with an inspired 2-1 victory to win Group A4 of the UEFA Nations League.

The Three Lions spurned several chances in the first half at Wembley and were made to pay as Andrej Kramarics shot deflected in off Eric Dier to put the visitors in front in the 57th minute.

Gareth Southgate introduced Jesse Lingard, along with Jadon Sancho, in the 73rd minute and the bold substitution immediately paid dividends as the Manchester United forward found a crucial equaliser.

Croatia, who got the better of England in the sides World Cup semi-final in the summer, looked tired as the clash reached its conclusion and Harry Kane proved the hero once again.

The Tottenham striker, quiet for much of the match, popped up when it mattered, prodding home Ben Chilwells free-kick and Southgates men held on for the win.

Croatias defeat means Zlatko Dalics side are relegated to League B with four points from their four matches, two points behind second-placed Spain.
