Manchester United target Everton Soares speaks out on Pep Guardiola phone call

Gremio star Everton Soares denies that he has spoken to Pep Guardiola amid strong interest from both Manchester City and Manchester United.

Reports suggest United are eyeing a £30million move for Everton, 22, ahead of the January transfer window, with both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez badly struggling in front of goal this season.

Its understood club scouts have traveled to Brazil to monitor Evertons progress and the young attacker has also caught the attention of Premier League leaders City.

There were rumours that Guardiola had spoken personally with Everton to discuss a potential move to the Etihad and the Brazil international was quizzed on the recent speculation.

Asked about his apparent phone call with Guardiola, Everton replied: Its a dream, right? Every player dreams of playing at high level, playing in Europe, reaching the national team.

Everton poured cold water on speculation that he could be set for a move to Old Trafford earlier this week.
