Maurizio Sarri desperate for Chelsea to sign Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar
Maurizio Sarri remains desperate to sign a new midfielder and has tasked Chelsea bosses with trying to secure a deal for Lyon star Houssem Aouar, according to reports.
The Italian has enjoyed an excellent start to life at the west London club, with the side unbeaten aside from a Community Shield defeat to Manchester City, while he has overhauled the teams style of play.
Sarri-ball, as it is affectionately known, sees Chelsea dominate possession and press high, but RMC Sport report the former Napoli boss wants to take his teams play to another level.
The one area of the team Sarri has always had concerns about is midfield, and despite bringing in Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic in the summer he wants more reinforcements in the position.

Sarri reportedly sees Lyons £30m-rated midfielder Aouar as the perfect No.8 for his system and the key to evolving his gameplan and approach at Chelsea.

The 20-year-old has not missed a game for Lyon this season in all competitions and has firmly established himself in the starting XI.
He has scored five times in Ligue 1 – making him the sides joint top scorer – as well as laying on three assists in the Champions League, the joint most in the competition.
Chelsea lack goal threat from midfield currently, with Kovacic yet to score, Jorginho only netting from the penalty spot and Kante bagging a single goal in his new, more adventurous role in the side.
However, Chelsea will face stiff competition from rivals at home and abroad for Aouar, with Liverpool and Barcelona also believed to be monitoring him, and Lyon will resist any sale – especially in January.
