Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has advised Inter Milan how to beat one of the most effective teams in Europe in Tottenham in the Champions League.

Spurs will hope to keep their Champions League hopes alive on Wednesday when they welcome Italian giants Inter to north London.

Tottenham go into the fixture having clinched an impressive 3-1 victory over Chelsea on Saturday to end Sarris unbeaten record as Blues boss.

Mauricio Pochettinos team raced into a two-goa lead through early goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane, before Heung-min Son added a third after half-time.

Speaking to Sky Italia after the humbling defeat, Sarri said: Inter are a good team, so I just hope they dont have the same initial approach that we did.

Its important to contain them in the first 30 minutes, as that is when Spurs are really dangerous.

Inter must also avoid losing possession in their own half, because when it comes to counter-attacks, Tottenham are one of the most effective teams in Europe.

Chelsea have made a fine start to the 2018-19 campaign but were outplayed by Tottenham in the London derby.

And former Napoli boss Sarri conceded it was perhaps the worst Chelsea performance this term.

We played badly against a strong opponent, the Italian added.

Perhaps it was the worst Chelsea performance of the season, but it was also in a stadium that I dont like.

There is an enormous distance from the crowd, so you dont get the usual atmosphere of an English arena.
