Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has stated he would “quit the sport” if a potential fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder went the full 12 rounds.

Joshua and Wilder hold all four of the heavyweight world title belts between them, and a full unification bout between the pair would be a huge fight for global boxing.

However, there may be a rematch first between Tyson Fury and Wilder after the pair fought out a highly-dramatic draw in Los Angeles on December 1.

In the eyes of many, Fury beat Wilder in their dust-up but the American retained his WBC strap with the stalemate result.

And while Hearn admitted Joshua would be easier for Wilder to hit than Fury if they fought, hes also adamant the 2012 Olympic gold medalist knocks the American out.

Joshua would be a lot easier to hit but I also think Joshua would take him off his feet and knock him spark out, Hearn told The Daily Mail.

If Josh fights Tyson its going to be the most amazing event but its also going to be quite an awkward night. If he fights Wilder its going to be X-rated because someones head is getting taken off.

If that goes 12 rounds, Joshua against Wilder, Im quitting the sport. Because thats ridiculous, thats not possible.

Hearn also mentioned the possibility of two certain Joshua-Wilder fights, rather than just the one.

The first Wilder fight would be here and wed agree to a second fight in America, Hearn added.

Thats the difference this time, were saying: “Well give you two fights”. Because last time they accepted one fight with a rematch clause for Joshua.

AJs next fight is against a currently unnamed opponent on April 13 at Wembley Stadium.
