Chelsea involved in another race row as UEFA investigate anti-Semitic chants against MOL Vidi

Chelsea are facing another race row just days after the alleged abuse aimed at Raheem Sterling, with UEFA confirming they are investigating alleged anti-Semitic chants during their Europa League match against MOL Vidi.

Just a few minutes into the match in Budapest on Thursday night, a portion of the 1,273 supporters in the away end began chanting anti-Semitic abuse about Yids.

UEFA have been made aware of the allegations and confirmed they will launch an investigation into the chants, while the west London club quickly released a statement slamming the shameful scenes.

The statement read: Anti-Semitism and any other kind of race-related or religious hatred is abhorrent to this club and the overwhelming majority of our fans.

It has no place at Chelsea or in any of our communities.

The latest controversy comes just five days after Manchester City star Sterling appeared to be called a black c*** at Stamford Bridge – though the accused fan claims he said Manc.

Chelsea suspended four fans from attending matches following that incident and now face further embarrassment, with UEFA likely to wait for reports from their match officials and delegate before deciding whether or not to charge Chelsea.
