Manchester United fans lose the plot as Toby Alderweireld drops transfer hint

Toby Alderweirelds social media activity saw Manchester United fans get a little bit hot under the collar, as he dropped a hint that he wants to move to Old Trafford.

The Tottenham Hotspur centre-back has long been linked with a transfer to Jose Mourinhos side, and was frozen out under Mauricio Pochettino last season as he refused to sign a new deal.

He didnt move on in the summer, with Mourinho left frustrated over Uniteds inability to sign a centre-half, and has started 14 times for Spurs in the Premier League this season.

However, rumours linking him with United continue to persist and Alderweirelds latest move on social media has added further fuel to the fire.

Responding to a question on Twitter asking which five players should Manchester United sign, a supporter suggested signing Napolis Kalidou Koulibaly, Leipzigs Dayot Upemecano, Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, Alderweireld and Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben.

And rather strangely, Alderweireld decided to like the tweet.

The move, of course, got Manchester United fans hearts racing and they called for Mourinho to get the deal done.
