Mauricio Pochettino betters Arsene Wengers record after 100th Premier League win

Mauricio Pochettino won his 100th Premier League game as Tottenham boss thanks to a late Christian Eriksen winner against Burnely.

Tottenham struggled to break Burnley down despite having 70 per cent of the possession at Wembley on Saturday.

The introduction of Eriksen and Heung-Min Son helped bolster Tottenhams attacking efforts and ensured Pochettino bettered the time Arsene Wenger took to reach the same milestone.

Pochettino has managed 100 wins in 169 league games as Tottenham boss, which is ten matches quicker than Wenger took to reach the same figure.

Arsenal fans will of course point to the trophies Wenger had one in the same time, as the Frenchman won the Premier League in his second season in London.

Pochettino is yet to win a trophy with Tottenham, and it seems unlikely Spurs will be able to pip Manchester City or Liverpool to the Premier League title this season.

The win over Burnley is Tottenhams third in the row and keeps Spurs third in the league table.

Spurs are five points ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea, but the gap could be cut to two if their London rivals win on Sunday.
