Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola has insisted the club want Callum Hudson-Odoi to stay amid interest from Bayern Munich.

The highly-rated 18-year-old made his Premier League debut against Watford as a substitute last month, a fixture Chelsea went on to win 2-1.

Not only is he starting to make a name for himself in the Blues squad, but Bayern are also interested in the winger, with reports suggesting they have recently made a £30 million bid.

However, Zola insisted that the London club want to retain him and see a big future in store for him wearing a Chelsea shirt.

I know Bayern is very interested in him but we are as well, Zola said. We have been proposing a contract to him for quite a while, so we wait and see.

We value him as a player. I know he hasnt played as much as he maybe wanted.

Zola also revealed that the 18-year-old is back in training and could play in Chelseas FA Cup clash this weekend due to other mounting injury concerns in the squad.

When asked about Chelseas upcoming clash against Nottingham Forest, the Italian said: We have some players who cannot play, like Pedro, Willian and [Olivier] Giroud.

It will leave space for others. We will rotate a little.

Callum is back in full training, he is certainly available and I would very much like it if he is going to play.
