Liverpool consider Manchester United flop Memphis Depay as potential Sadio Mane replacement
Former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay is ready to quit Lyon this summer amid interest from several Premier League clubs.
The Netherlands international moved to Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2015 but failed to fulfil his potential and struggled to win the confidence of Louis van Gaal and his successor Jose Mourinho.
Depay was reluctantly sold by Mourinho just over two years ago and the 25-year-old has gradually rebuilt his reputation in France, scoring 30 goals in 80 Ligue 1 appearances.
According to LÉquipe, Depay believes he has now outgrown Lyon and wants another opportunity to impress at one of Europes heavyweight clubs.
United inserted a buy-back clause in Depays contract but it is unlikely Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will explore that potential option this summer with his transfer priorities lying in defence and central midfield.

LÉquipe claims that Liverpool are carefully monitoring Depays situation, especially in light of Real Madrids interest in Sadio Mane.
