An animal rescue group from North Carolina is hoping women looking to discard their unwanted bras will send the undergarments to them so they can save turtles with broken shells.
No, they will not become softshell turtles from the bras cups. Rather, the Carolina Waterfowl Rescue is appealing to women to remove the eye closures from the fasteners and send them in.
Carolina Waterfowl Rescue member Keenan Freitas told NBC New York the bra eye closures help wire the shells back together. According to the rescue group, about 40 turtles are rescued a week — many run over by cars, boats and lawnmowers.
The shell repair concept didnt originate in North Carolina. An animal rehab group in Iowa originally used the fasteners with zip ties to help turtles mend their shattered shells.

RESTAURANTS LACK OF HASH BROWNS VIOLATED MANS CIVIL RIGHTS: LAWSUIT
A North Carolina man believes a fast food outlets failure provide a large enough serving of hash browns violates his civil rights.
Tommy Martin is suing the Hardees, alleging an eatery hurt his civil rights by giving him too few hash browns on his breakfast platter.
According to the New York Daily News, Martin — an African-American — says his skin colour is the reason behind the lack of Hardees Hash Rounds on his plate. A federal lawsuit filed by Martin noted a breakfast platter pictured on the Hardees website showed about a dozen hash browns on the side.
The man claims he received less than 12 with his morning meal, leaving the Hardees “teary-eyed” and reported the injustice to Belmont, N.C., cops.
The lawsuit claimed a cashier tried to correct the situation, but a restaurant manager interjected and reportedly told Martin “thats what you get.”
The incident — which took place in 2018 — has reportedly scared Martin, and the man is no longer comfortable eating in public, the lawsuit stated. Martin claims he received a refund for his meal, but would like a jury to decide the lawsuits merit.

If you ever wondered about what scent matches a classic 2,000-year-old sculpture, a French fragrance company will provide some examples.
According to Artnet News, the Louvre museum in Paris has teamed up with LOfficine Universelle Buly to create a line of perfumes for some of its featured art.
Perfume artists from LOfficine Universelle Buly were given free rein to create scents inspired by their favourite displays at the Louvre.
Some of the artful creations include Winged Victory of Samothrace, a perfume that smells like white tuberose flowers and was inspired by the sculpture of Greek goddess Nik. The Bather — which possesses hints of lavender, neroli oil and orange blossom — is themed after the 1808 Jean-August-Dominique Ingres painting with the same name.
“I chose eight perfumers, all stars and gave them 100% freedom, with no limit on their budgets,” said LOfficine Universelle Buly co-founder Ramdane Touhami.
