Mohamed Salah is enjoying a quite incredible debut season at Liverpool – that’s in no doubt.
The Egyptian has scored 36 goals in all competitions (28 in the Premier League) and at the weekend banged in four against Watford.
It means he’s matched Robbie Fowler’s record of 36 goals (achieved in 1995/96 in 53 games) for the most goals by a Liverpool player in the Premier League era.
He is already the most prolific debutant in Liverpool’s history having surpassed the 33 scored by Fernando Torres in 2007/08.

At the weekend he also became the first Egyptian to score a Premier League hat-trick.

But with seven games remaining in the Premier League and Liverpool still involved in Europe there are many records for Salah still to break before the season is over…
Premier League
29 goals will equal Didier Drogba’s record for most goals by an African player.

30 goals will see him join an elite group of just seven players to reach that tally in a Premier League season. Andy Cole, Alan Shearer, Kevin Phillips, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robin van Persie and Luis Suarez are those who he would join.
31 goals will equal most scored in a 38 game season – Alan Shearer, Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo share that record.

34 goals will equal most ever scored in a Premier League season – Alan Shearer and Andy Cole reached the tally when it was a 42 game season.
Liverpool
In all competitions, Salah has scored 36 goals. He needs 47 to match Ian Rush’s record for the most goals scored by a Liverpool player in a single season.

Top of the charts
Salah is currently leading the race for the golden shoe, which recognises the most prolific scorer in Europe. He currently has 28 goals compared to 25 for second-placed Lionel Messi, which equates to 56 points to 50 in Uefa’s system used to define the top scorer. But while Salah leads, Messi has nine league games left in which to score compared to seven for the Liverpool player.
Salah now looks certain to win the Premier League golden boot, with him currently four goals clear of Harry Kane who is out injured for the next month. The next nearest contender is Sergio Aguero on 21 goals.
