Manchester United are set to begin talks with Monaco over a deal to sign Djibril Sidibe, according to reports in France.

Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen his options in defence this summer and is in the market for full-backs, as well as central defenders.

United are said to be close to securing a £44 million deal for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, with reports in Italy claiming that an official announcement could be made shortly after the FA Cup final this weekend.

But Le10 Sport claims that Sidibe is also one of Uniteds priorities and the Premier League runners-up will begin talks with Monaco in the coming hours.

The report claims that Sidibes future could even be decided before the start of Frances World Cup campaign.

Monaco, however, are keen to hold out for a high transfer fee having received £52m from Manchester City for Benjamin Mendy last summer.

Sidibe was signed from Lille for £13m in 2016 and Monaco are looking to make a profit on him.

The 25-year-old, who has made Frances World Cup squad, has been Monacos first-choice right-back but he is also capable of covering on the opposite flank.
