Mohamed Salah reveals Didier Drogba's class message about breaking his Prem record

Mohamed Salah has revealed Didier Droga encouraged him to break the Premier League record for the most goals scored by an African player.

Drogba, who played for Chelsea between 2004 and 2012, was the previous record holder on 29 goals but Salah found the net 32 times during last seasons league campaign to smash the Ivorians record.

Salahs goal were enough to secure him multiple accolades along the way, including the PFA, PWA and EPL Player of the Year awards.

When I reached 20 goals, I spoke with Didier Drogba, Salah told LEquipe Magazine.

He told me: Please, break the record! to which I responded laughing: No worries, I will!

And I managed [it]. So I thought to myself, I have quite a few games to play before the end of the season, I can break the all-time record! Its a great source of joy for me.

Despite Salahs incredible season, his campaign on a sour note when he was forced off with injury in Liverpools Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid last month in Kiev.

However, hes fighting to be fit for Egypts World Cup opener against Uruguay and hopes to enjoy more success with his national team this summer.
