Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals his instructions to Paul Pogba in new attacking role
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he has asked Paul Pogba to play further forward in a more attack-minded role for Manchester United – and it is already reaping reward.
The Frenchman has scored in every game under his new manager, bagging four goals and three assists in the three matches since Jose Mourinho was axed as manager.
United have played noticeably more attacking and adventurous football under Solskjaer, and the Norwegian coach is encouraging Pogba to get in the box as often as possible.
Asked if his message to Pogba has been to play further forward, Solskjaer told MUTV: Yeah. We want him to attack those spaces because we know what a handful he is in the air.
He can also score with his feet, hes got those long legs – tentacles, you know, the first goal.

Asked if he is now showing his ability as a goalscorer, Solskjaer continued: Yes, as I said, his attributes, he can shoot, he can get in the box, he can head it.
But most pleasing maybe for me – because I know hes got all that – is the way he tackles, wins the ball back and plays it simple.
