Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has ripped in Liverpool and Nathaniel Clyne claiming the whole transfer situation is “disgrace” and “lack of class”.

Clyne joined Bournemouth on Friday from Liverpool, a player Warnock revealed following Cardiffs shock 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Gillingham that he was interested in as well.

The Bluebirds manager didnt just reveal his interest in signing the full-back, but he even went as far to say he was “promised” the player from Liverpool.

Weve almost agreed terms for one particularly player, but I was disappointed with Nathaniel Clyne, Warnock said.

Having known the player and given him his debut, Im disappointed not just with the boy himself but with Liverpool as well for not ringing me.

To see it on television when Ive done everything right and theyve promised that hes my player this week, its a disgrace for me, its a lack of class isnt it?

But listen, were not going to get any favours, whether its on the pitch or off it and were always up against it and thats when were good.

I probably should have been illegally tapping him, but Ive done everything right and then Bournemouth come in and I suppose Bournemouth paying £19 million for [Dominic] Solanke probably whetted their appetite a little bit.

Liverpools next fixture is against Wolves in the FA Cup on Monday as they look to bounce back from Thursdays defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League.
