Brooks said, “This bill has nothing to do with all the intellectual work that real economists put in, who are Republican, who are conservative, who have a vision of improving incentives. What’s big about this is that the Republican Party has become detached from the Republican economic profession. And so, they pass a bill that simply is donor maintenance, and it’s about hurting their people and helping our people, with really — without an underlying economic philosophy at all.
