Luis Enrique is very keen on joining Chelsea as a replacement for under-pressure boss Antonio Conte and has already decided on his first signing, according to reports.

Conte’s job is under increasing threat after losing back-to-back matches against Bournemouth and Watford, shipping seven goals in the process, and the Blues have already drawn up a list of potential replacements.

Enrique is believed to be one of the primary targets, and now Spanish television show El Chiringuito TV say he is ready to accept the job and wants Luis Suarez as his first signing.

The former Barcelona boss was in charge when the Uruguayan moved to Camp Nou from Liverpool, while Conte has made no secret of his desire to add more firepower at Chelsea.

Enrique seems to have come to the same conclusion and would want Suarez to partner Alvaro Morata should he get the job at Chelsea.

Over their three seasons together, Suarez scored 121 goals in all competitions and confirmed his status as the best striker in world football.

They also won nine trophies together, including the Champions League and two La Liga titles.

Ironically, Conte’s fate is likely to be decided by Suarez and Enrique’s old club Barcelona, who Chelsea take on in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Owner Roman Abramovich will give Conte the tie as a final test to decide whether he should stay, with Enrique heading up a list of replacements that also includes ex Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel and Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri.
