Arsenal ready to pay Dennis Praets release clause after concrete talks
Arsenal have opened negotiations to sign Sampdoria star Dennis Praet, according to reports in Italy.
Praet has made 69 appearances for Sampdoria since joining the Serie A outfit back in 2016 but the 24-year-old midfielder is being heavily linked with a move to north London ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
Some reports suggest Juventus are closing in on a deal for Praet but its understood Unai Emery is also eyeing a bid for the Belgium international.
Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Gunners have held concrete talks with Praets agent. The midfielder is viewed as an alternative to Romas Lorenzo Pellegrini.
The highly-rated Belgian has a £22million release clause in his contract at Sampdoria – a fee Arsenal which are ready to pay.
Its understood Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli are also interested in landing Praet this summer.
Praet hinted that he had played his last match for Sampdoria with a heartfelt message to supporters on Instagram earlier this week.
I want to thank all the fans for the amazing support this year, he posted amid the growing speculation surrounding his future.
