Russian defender Ilya Kutepov threatens to copy Sergio Ramos challenge on Mohamed Salah at World Cup
Russia defender Ilya Kutepov has warned Mohamed Salah that Russia will try to stop him by any means necessary – even if it means repeating Sergio Ramos controversial arm grapple.
Since then, Egypts talisman has been fighting to get fit in time for his nations World Cup opener against Uruguay on Saturday – though he is confident he will be okay.
A few days later, hosts Russia await Egypt in St Petersburg, and Salah can expect more rough treatment.
Salahs game doesnt worry me, said Kutepov. How do you stop him? Well, you can do what Sergio Ramos did for example.
He showed us one way of stopping him and I cant say that I was upset when I watched him get injured in the final.
I wish him a quick recovery and Ill be happy if he plays at the World Cup because it helps you improve when you play against such a genius.
Russia also take on Saudi Arabia and Uruguay in Group A, and Kutepov had a few choice words for Luis Suarez too.
He continued: Am I afraid of Suarez? Of course Im not because if needs be, I can bite him myself!
